How often does your watch need to be serviced?
To ensure your watch continues to be in perfect working order, we recommend that you follow
some simple maintenance procedures.
Firstly, you can maintain your watch by cleaning it with a soft, dry brush every 2 to 3 months.
Next, don’t forget that your watch needs a regular service with a qualified watchmaker.
Consequently, we invite you to carry out a full, comprehensive service every 5 to 7 years with
a specialist to ensure its mechanism works efficiently. In the event the watch operates in an
abnormal way, we recommend you consult a specialist prior to this time limit.
Every two years, you can also take the watch to a professional to check the watertightness of
your watch.
Ensure that the watchmaker whose services you call upon is a serious professional with a good
reputation. The latter must perform a certain number of operations whilst servicing your watch:
- Opening the case
- Dismantling
- Checking and cleaning each element of the movement, one by one
- Replacing parts if necessary
- Testing the hands
- Reassembling and lubricating the movement
- Changing the seals
- Closing the case
- Testing the watertightness
- Testing of the chronometric performance
Should you so wish, the professional can also carry out a light polish.
